About This Dog

Dukie's ideal home

Dukie is a 3-year-old, low-energy boy who is looking for a calm, understanding home with experienced owners who can read his body language and give him space when he feels unsure. He is a friendly little boy but can be a bit wary when first meeting new people, and can become nervous in certain situations, so he’ll need adopters who can be patient and help build his confidence going at his own pace. Dukie would benefit from a quieter lifestyle with gentle routines, plenty of toys and treats, and short, relaxed daily walks. While he can be left alone once settled, this should be introduced gradually. He cannot live with other dogs, cats, or small furries, and would be best suited to a home with children aged 14 and over who can respect his need for space. Any new adopters may need to meet a few times here at the centre before going home to help build a friendship.

Could you be Dukie's perfect match?

Dukie can feel worried or conflicted around other dogs, as he hasn’t had much positive interaction with them in the past. He can be unsure when meeting new dogs and may be reactive when out and about, so he will need understanding owners who can help manage this sensitively. In the right calm and understanding home, Dukie will make a devoted and affectionate best friend. Dukie could be a wonderful companion for someone seeking a loyal, laid-back dog who enjoys the simple things in life—cosy naps, a safe environment, and steady companionship. With the right home, Dukie will thrive as a gentle, affectionate pet who bonds closely with his people and enjoys a peaceful, predictable routine.
