About This Dog

Max's ideal home

Say hello to Max, our handsome 11 year old Chihuahua x Jack Russell Terrier. This sweet lad is looking for a quiet home where he can enjoy a relaxing retirement. Max is a social butterfly who likes to meet doggie friends out and about on walks and could potentially live with another dog in the home, pending a successful meet at our centre. He has also lived with a cat before, so could potentially live with another one in the future. Max has never lived with children however and is not used to having many visitors to the house, preferring a quiet home, so for this reason all children in the home should be over 16 years old. Max is a smart boy, who is house trained and walks well on lead, but he is not used to being left in the home alone, so any potential adopters should be around most of the time and willing to build up his leaving hours slowly.

Could you be Max's perfect match?

Max is a lovely boy, who is instantly friendly when meeting new people and can make sweet whiny noises until he gets a lap to sit in! He would be happy with a couple of short sniffy walks per day where he can explore the area and say hello to a couple of other dogs on the way. Max is currently staying with one of our lovely foster homes and is lapping up all the attention his heart desires. This angel really will make the best little companion to his future family!

...lived with dogs and cats and is friendly with dogs he meets out and about, so he could happily live with another calm dog in the home. Toby is a little under-socialised, so he can sometimes be unsure in new situations, but he is a sweet-natured little lad. Toby enjoys gentle walks but, as an older boy, he can tire quite quickly now and would much prefer shorter...

...he asks for it. Gizmo is a good boy, but can boof at dogs out and about if he's feeling crazy, but is easy to come away. He is a sweet angel who just needs a bit of patience and time to come around! Gizmo is a bit fan of chicken, so this is a great aid in making friends and any training he may need. Gizmo isn't looking to go for hikes, but he enjoys getting out and...

...the only dog in the home. He can become jealous when other dogs get attention, and when meeting unfamiliar dogs he can feel ...and reactive, showing behaviours like barking and lunging. For this reason, he’ll need owners who understand his need for space and can help him build confidence at his own pace. Kurt enjoys his walks but would benefit from quieter routes...

...dog in the home, although he tends to ignore other dogs when out and about. He could potentially live with cats, as he has previously met them and shown little interest. Frankie was brought to us because he was being left alone for extended periods (around 6–9 hours), which he struggled to cope with. He can find being left difficult and may vocalise when alone, so he...
