Poppy is a 10 year old Chihuahua looking for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy a gentle pace of life and feel safe to be herself. She is shy by nature and appreciates patience, reassurance, and having her space respected. Poppy would love a home where she can potter about, sunbathe in warm spots, and snuggle up for relaxed evenings as a typical lap dog. She can live with another calm dog following a gentle introduction, and would suit a household that understands she may bark at dogs on walks and prefers polite, respectful canine company.

Poppy is a wonderfully affectionate companion who will shower her people with love once she feels settled. She is fully housetrained, can be left for a few hours at a time, and is happy getting into the car, though she can be a little timid when travelling. Poppy could live with primary school aged, dog savvy children who know when to give her space. She would make a truly rewarding companion for a quiet, caring home ready to cherish her. She is on the Homestay scheme and is not currently at the centre to view. Poppy does have some ongoing medical needs, which can be discussed in more detail with potential adopters.
