About This Dog for Adoption
Terance's ideal home
If you are looking for a loyal little companion with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give, Terance could be your perfect match. At 8-and-a-half years old, this smooth-coated Chihuahua may be small in size, but he has a heart full of affection for those he trusts.
Terance is currently enjoying home comforts in foster, where he is showing just what a loving lad he can be once settled. He is looking for a calm and quiet home, with older or more laid-back children aged 12 and up, who will give him the space he needs to find his feet. Once he has built a bond, he is a real cuddle bug who enjoys snuggling up and spending time with his people.
He will need to be the only dog in the home. He can be a bit vocal when he sees other dogs but then walks on. He has previously lived happily alongside cats and birds and may be able to do so again with careful introductions.
Terance struggles with being left, so will need owners who are around most of the time and can support him gradually if any alone time is to be introduced. He is also wary of visitors, so a home with a quieter lifestyle and fewer comings and goings would really help him thrive.
Could you be Terance's perfect match?
Terance may be shy to begin with, but once he gets to know you, he transforms into a loving and affectionate little chap. He enjoys fuss and cuddles from his trusted people, and while toys do not hold much interest for him, he does love a gentle game of tug with a soft squeaky toy. He also has a cheeky side – especially when there is human food involved!
He travels well in the car and is comfortable around most road noise, though he can be a little unsure of large or loud vehicles. Out and about, he prefers to stay close to his person, taking his time to explore at his own pace. He is fully housetrained and has picked up routines well in foster – he even stops nicely at the roadside when his carer says “wait.”
Terance is not a fan of loud knocks or sudden visitors and will need understanding owners who are happy to give him space when meeting new people. He may initially bark and retreat, but with patience and calm, he will soon come out of his shell and ask for affection in his own sweet time.
This sensitive little soul is looking for a peaceful home and a patient heart. If you can offer Terance the love, comfort and security he longs for, he will reward you with unwavering loyalty and the most heart-warming companionship.
