About This Dog for Adoption
Khaleesi's ideal home
Looking for a loyal little lady to dote on? Khaleesi, an 8-year-old Chinese Crested Cross, is a sweet and affectionate companion who would love nothing more than to be someone’s centre of attention.
Khaleesi is friendly, cuddly, and adores meeting new people—she has been lovely with visitors and friendly from the very start. She has lived with children before and can have older kids (12+) around, but she is more comfortable in a calm, adult-focused home.
She must be the only pet in the home. Khaleesi does not get on with small animals, and while she has lived with a dog before, she mostly kept to herself and would now much prefer to have all the attention to herself. She can be worried by other dogs out and about so she will need gentle, supportive guidance from her new family to help her feel more at ease on walks.
Could you be Khaleesi's perfect match?
Khaleesi is a fun and affectionate girl who knows her sit, down, paw and even “dance”—she loves a meaty treat and will happily strut her stuff for the right reward! She enjoys a game with toys from time to time but is far more motivated by a comfy lap and a cuddle.
She travels quietly in the car, is housetrained, and is happy being left for short periods—she has previously coped with up to six hours, though she will need this built up gradually in her new home. At mealtimes, she tends to bolt her food, so slow feeders or puzzle feeders may be helpful.
Khaleesi will make a wonderful and devoted companion. If you are looking for a loving little dog to share your sofa and your heart with, she might just be your perfect match.
This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.
